Decorating for Halloween is just so much fun! This project is a great, inexpensive craft that kids (and adults) of all ages can do!
Just simply recycle some gallon milk jugs into these super cute Jack O’Lanterns!
Have fun, be creative with your design. But here’s a few tips:
-Keep the design simple. The greater the black background the more “glow” you’ll get.
-Regular paint won’t work, unless you finish it off with a weatherproof sealant. Use an outdoor spray paint and permanent marker or nail polish for touch ups.
-Wear gloves and protect your work space when using spray paint.
-For finer details (like the spider web milk jug at the end of the video) use a hot glue gun to draw on your pattern. You could also use Elmer’s glue, but it takes a while to dry.
-Be sure to clean out the milk jug really well. I shake up soapy hot water in it, then rinse it under running water till there are no more bubbles left. Then I add a splash of bleach and rinse it again with hot water.
-Don’t forget to weigh down your milk jug with a few inches of water. You could use sand if you wanted as well.
And yes, for those of you paying attention to details, I painted my nails while I waited for the spray paint to dry ; )
